'Austrian pine'-pinus nigra-Very hardy, withstanding city or seaside conditions, heat and drought, and clay and alkaline soils. Good for windbreaks. Grows to 60', with 20'-40' spread. (zones 4-7)
'Bristlecone Pine'-pinus longaeva-A conifer, small tree in the west, shrub in the east, a very slow tree, use as a potted tree or a bonsai specimum. This is the longest living tree known in the world with live specimens over 4,500 yrs old (The time the pyramids were built). Grows to 4-40', with 6-20' spread. (zones 5-10)
'Cembra Pine' -Pinus cembra- Cembra pine trees, originated in the Upper Engadine region in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. Also known as the stone pine or the arolla, cembra pines prefer shady locations and usually grow up to the forest limit of 2,200-2,300m. 15-20', 6-8' spread. (zones 3-6)
'Japanese Black Pine'-Pinus thunbergiana- The ultimate bonsai or sculpted pine. Known as the quintessential symbol of friendship in Japanese gardens around the world. Pyramidal when young becoming more oval with age. Moderate to rapid grower. 20' to 30' height X 40' to 60' spread. (zones 5-8)
'Japanese red pine'-Pinus densiflora "Oculus-draconis"-has a home range that includes Japan, Korea, northeastern China and the extreme southeast of Russia. In Japan it is known as Akamatsu and Mematsu. A nice specimen that turns yellowish during winter. The tree prefers a site with full sun and a well-drained, slightly acid soil. The bark is reddish and peeling. 50', 50' spread. (zones 3-7)
'Japanese red pine'-Pinus densiflora
'Japanese White Pine' - Pinus parviflora- A nice addition to any landscape. It develops into a 25 to 50-foot-tall, graceful, irregularly-shaped tree, with an equal or greater spread, and a broad, flattened canopy. The 1 to 2.5-inch-long needles are stiff and twisted, forming blue/green tufts of foliage at branch tips. 25' to 50' height, 25' to 50' spread. (zones 4-7)
'Limber Pine' -Pinus flexilis- A small to medium sized tree. Slow growing, long-lived species, it sometimes may take several hundred years to reach maturity. It grows across a wider range of elevations that any other tree species in the central Rocky Mountains, living in some of the driest sites capable of supporting trees. 30 to 60’, 15 to 35’ spread (zones 4-7)
'Mitch's Weeping'-pinus sylvestris 'Mitch's Weeping'-Hardy and adaptable to nearly all climates. Strongly weeping form with sparce branching. Incredible if trained high with a stake. Considered the finest weeping scotch pine. Bark is Orange to orange-brown and scaly or peeling. 10'-25', 15'-20' spread. (zones 3-7)
'Scots Pine' -Pinaceae Pinus sylvestris- also known as scotch pine, is hardy and adaptable to nearly all climates. It is a medium sized tree reaching up to 60 feet tall. Bark is Orange to orange-brown and scaly or peeling. 60', 40' spread. (zones 3-7)
'Shore Pine'-pinus contorta- Fast growing, moisture tolerant. Short, rich green, two needle/bundle. Easily adaptable to shearing, bonsai, poodle. Short needle pine from the Oregon Coast. grows to 30’ (zones 7-9)
'Contorted White Pine'-Pinus strobus 'Torulosa'-Large and rather open in habit the needles and branches are twisted. Upright growth, but still a contorted effect. Slow growing but tolerates dry soil. 60' to 20' spread. (zones 3-8)
'Wates Golden Virginia pine'-Pinus virginiana 'Wates Golden'- The needles of this tree are lemon-lime in the summer. In winter the foliage turns bright yellow. Nice red cone in the spring. Broad, open pyramid when young; becomes flat topped; horizontal with age, irregular branches.15' to 40' by 10-13' spread. (zones 4-8)

'Dwarf Mugo Pine'-Pinus mugo pumilio-Domed, evergreen
with thick branches. A dwarf, dense shrub sheared for compactness and excellent for bonsai. Slow grower to 3 - 5 ft. tall and up to 10 ft. wide.(zones 3-7)
'Japanese Red Pine-'Pinus densiflora 'Low Glow'-A rounded dwarf with bright green foliage. 3-4’ tall over the first 10 years. Very slow growing at (3-5” per year). It's larger counterpart is Perhaps the most common tree growing in Japan. 3-4', 3-4' spread. (zone 3-7)
